I am now on the Menstrual Equity Team as well as the Micro Forest Team. I have been using my skills to help whenever I am needed. I was asked to help film the 3D Virtual Reality part of the Menstrual Equity project. The two film locations are Food Pantry and Woman’s Wellness Center. I captured both 360 videos and VR still photos.
However, during the process, it has been hard working as a group. I have found that I am not a very good team player and that I prefer to work on my own. Being with a lot of people overwhelms me and I have a hard time accomplishing the task. For example, I had a little meltdown when we were filming because there were too many people asking me to do things. I like being given a task and go off to do it in a quiet room.
Overall, I enjoyed shooting on the 360 camera for the MEI project. I was able to capture both photos and videos successfully. The difficulty we encountered were capturing images without outside elements. For example, interference with cars driving, wind, and lighting. However, these can all be edited at a later time. If so, I have to upload the video into After Effects and take out the audio and replace it with one that I recorded with no wind.
For the Micro Forest team, I created a low poly animated tree for the zine cover using Adobe After Effects to mimic the Oak tree on Campus (For your reference, please check out the images below). My design is currently being tested for the Zine cover. I’m awaiting final edits. Lastly, I created a 3D island on Blender to help support Jacob filter designs for Tick Tok. During my mid-term presentation, the team has decided it will not be utilized.
Next steps for the MEI project I plan to create a promotional ad for the launch of their product cart with theme go with the flow. I’m waiting for approval and needed information to create design.
In conclusion, I’m trying to figure out where else my skills can be of use to support both teams. I am looking forward to creating a great Capstone project.
